About the Event
A skib is a traditional Irish potato basket. They come in all sizes and were traditionally used to strain and serve potatoes which were the staple dish in many homes in Ireland. Nowadays they can be a beautiful decorative addition in a modern home: small skibs can be used for holding fruit or presenting bread and scones; larger skibs have become very popular as wall hangings or presentation baskets at shows and fairs.
On this course we will be using the recently harvested and semi seasoned willow which is from my own plantation and comes in a variety of colours.
The workshop price includes all materials and tools, tea, coffee and ‘posh’ biscuits; please bring your own packed lunch.
Warm clothing is recommended.
